International Network of Spinal Cord Injury Nurses

The PVA have published an updated evidence based clinical practice guideline on mental health. It has been ‘designed for SCI rehabilitation professionals who are not mental health specialists as well as for those who are.’

The guideline, ‘Management of Mental Health Disorders, Substance Use Disorders, and Suicide in Adults with Spinal Cord Injury‘, is a fantastic resource to support your needs.

The Asia SCI Network ‘ASCoN Psychosocial Guidelines ‘ were launched during the 14th ASCoN Conference in 2015.

The development of the Guidelines in SCI Rehabilitation is consistent with the ASCoN commitment to develop more detailed guidelines for each specific aspect of SCI management. These guidelines are intended to be shared among facilities and to serve as a resource for newly developed services.

In developing these psychosocial guidelines, ASCoN endorses the fact that people with SCI have the right for full and effective participation in society and equality of opportunity, as stated in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD).
